Filipinos, How You & I Can Choose Our President In The 2022 Elections

Ping Lacson – Pass! I don’t think he has what it takes to be #1.

Bongbong Marcos – Going by experience in governance.
Choose Bongbong Marcos, because he has proven to be a good Governor of his own province, Ilocos Norte. No other presidential candidate has such experience. And of course, some wisdom must have rubbed off from his father, Ferdinand Edralin Marcos, the Worst/Best PH President we have ever had, depending on your bases for judging governance. The sin of the Father cannot be inherited by the Son.

Isko Moreno over Manny Pacquiao – Going by triumph over poverty.
Isko was the poorest of them all, having to rummage through garbage for his 3 meals a day. I can’t imagine being so poor like that, but Isko survived; in fact, he thrived. Manny was poor, but not as poor as Isko was.

Manny Pacquiao – Going by success over one’s chosen profession.
He has many world titles in boxing, nobody can rival him there, nobody in the world. He is The Pride of the Filipino in Sports. His major world titles are 8: (1) WBC Flyweight Champion, 112 lb; (2) IBF Super Bantamweight Champion, 122 lb; (3) WBC Super Featherweight Champion, 130 lb: (4) WBC Lightweight Champion, 135 lb; (5) WBO Welterweight Champion, 147 lb (3x); (6) WBA (Regular) Welterweight Champion; (7) WBA Super Welterweight Champion, 147 lb; and (8) WBC Super Welterweight Champion, 154 lb. Champion of Champions!

Leni Robredo – Going by heart for the oppressed.
She has no equal in this area of humanity!

Nonetheless, above all considerations, I will choose my President by the candidate’s Vision, Mission & Strategy (VMS).

Vision is what you want your country or people to be within your term or starting with it. Here is Leni speaking (from Facebook post, 07 October 2021):

Ang kinabukasan, pinipili, pinagsisikapan, ipinaglalaban. Kailangan nating piliing humakbang. Heto ako ngayon, humahakbang. Ipaglalaban ko kayo hanggang dulo. Itataya ko ang lahat; ibubuhos ko ang lahat na kayang ibuhos. Sama-sama tayong tumaya sa laban na ito.

My free translation:

The future is chosen, tried hard for, fought for. We must choose to take the step. Here I am, taking the step. I will fight for you up to the end. I will gamble all; I will pour out everything that I can. United we will gamble in this fight.

Beautiful! Now, exactly how do we Filipinos “fight for the Philippines of our dreams?” That brings us to the real purpose of my essay: Choosing the candidate for President who has a complete package of VMS:

Vision – What is the most cherished dream for the Philippines to be within this lifetime?
Mission – How would it be accomplished?
Strategy – What would be the contribution of the people to accomplish the Mission to bring about the fulfilment of the Vision?

My minimum Vision is for the millions of Filipinos to rise from poverty and stay up there!

We need a President who has the good of the people at heart. Now then, let’s hear from all the presidential candidates!@517
